Beyond the Balance Sheet: How Just Property Professionals Are Redefining Wealth

When people hear the word wealth, money is usually the first thing that comes to mind. But at Just Property, we’ve come to understand that true wealth is so much more. Wealth can indicate financial security, but it can also be knowledge, strong relationships, personal freedom, and the ability to leave a lasting legacy.

Across our network, we are privileged to work with inspiring professionals whose journeys prove that success in property is not just about income, it’s about creating a life of abundance in all its dimensions. Their stories highlight the multiple ways Just Property empowers people to build not only careers but sustainable futures.

Gregory van Wijk – From Rentals Agent to Franchise Owner

Gregory van Wijk’s journey is a powerful example of how persistence and vision can transform a career. He began at Just Property six years ago as a rentals agent, where he built his foundation in understanding clients and navigating the property market.

“Several milestones have shaped my journey with Just Property,” Gregory van Wijk reflects. “Starting as a rental agent gave me the grounding I needed to truly understand clients and the property industry. Stepping away for a while might have seemed like a detour, but it strengthened my leadership and business skills. Returning as Sales Manager in Midrand reignited my drive. And most recently, acquiring my own franchise in Sandton has been my proudest milestone – it’s not just personal growth, but an opportunity to build a legacy and expand the Just Property brand.”

For van Wijk, the shift from employee to franchise owner has been life-changing. “My career has evolved from earning through transactions to building an asset that grows in value. Owning the Sandton franchise under the Just Property Summit group means I’m not just working for income, I’m investing in a business that can scale, provide stability beyond monthly earnings, and one day be passed on or sold as a valuable asset. That’s how you build a legacy of financial independence.”

He adds that the support structures within Just Property, including systems, marketing, training, and mentorship, have been instrumental. “That combination of ownership and support has been central to my journey of wealth creation.”

Sarah-Ann Beetge – From Half-Day to Business Leader

For Sarah-Ann Beetge, the journey with Just Property started in 2008 in a very different role. At the time, she worked half-days as a maintenance coordinator so that she could spend afternoons with her young children. Over the years, she grew into the business, built lasting relationships with clients, and developed a fascination with property and wealth creation.

In 2016, she took a leap of faith and purchased the Just Property Middelburg franchise. That decision transformed her career from administration into full-scale business ownership and leadership.

When asked what opportunities within the company helped her increase her earning potential, Beetge clearly stated, “The single greatest opportunity has been the chance to purchase my own franchise. Just as important, being part of a strong national network, supported by powerful marketing, proven systems, and ongoing guidance, has allowed me to focus on growth and profitability with confidence.”

With the rise of entrepreneurship, Beetge offers valuable advice to those looking to build wealth in property: “Be patient and consistent, and commit fully to the journey. Keep learning, cultivate strong relationships, and never shy away from hard work. Wealth isn’t created overnight,  it’s the result of long-term dedication and making the most of the opportunities Just Property provides.”

Yevai Makoni – Redefining Wealth in Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, franchisee Yevai Makoni has shown how Just Property can reshape perspectives on money, success, and wealth. “Through gaining a deeper understanding of financial concepts, from investing and saving to managing debt, I’ve come to see wealth as more than just money. It’s about building smart investments, seizing business opportunities, advancing my career, and ultimately creating personal fulfillment.”

Her achievements speak for themselves. In a relatively short period, Makoni has earned recognition both individually and as part of Just Property. Her accolades include:

  • Zimbabwe CEO's Network Platinum Winner: Outstanding Woman Leader

  • Zimbabwe Building Contractors Association: Rising Star in Real Estate

  • Megafest Women's Awards: Diamond Winner, Outstanding Woman in Real Estate of the Year

  • Emerging Brands in Africa Award: Emerging Brand in Real Estate

  • Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce: 2nd Runner-up Certificate, MSME of the Year 2025 (Just Property)

“These awards are a testament to our hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence in the real estate industry,” Makoni says. “They also reflect the strong leadership and innovative approach that Just Property embodies every day.”

When asked what she would do differently, she laughs: “I would have joined Just Property ten years ago!”

Beyond Transactions: Creating True Wealth

At Just Property, we believe that wealth is multi-dimensional. The journeys of Gregory van Wijk, Sarah-Ann Beetge, and Yevai Makoni show that property isn’t just about transactions, it’s about transformation. Financial gain is one piece of the puzzle, but the knowledge gained, the relationships built, the freedom created, and the legacies left behind are what truly define success.

Their stories remind us that when we talk about wealth, we must think beyond the balance sheet. Because in property, wealth is not just about money, it’s about building a richer life in every sense of the word.
